Senior FDE

Context

We are building AI-native products on the Anthropic API and MCP (Model Context Protocol), backed by a Django/DRF + PostgreSQL platform with Celery/Redis pipelines and a React/Next.js frontend, deployed on Azure. The team works in an agentic AI coding workflow where these tools are used daily.

The Role

This is an architect-and-build seat for a Senior SDE who acts as the technical authority on system design. You will decide how services are cut, manage data flows, integrate agents and connectors, and ensure the system scales safely while mentoring Junior SDEs.

• System Architecture (25%): Design overall systems including service boundaries, data models, integrations, agent architecture, MCP tool surfaces, API contracts, design docs/ADRs, and tech-debt strategy. Example: "Design the platform for 10x document volume".
• Agent & Connector Architecture (25%): Develop custom agents/subagents, orchestration strategies, skill designs, connectors/tools, guardrails, context/memory management. Example: "Build the connector for a client's DMS".
• Backend Delivery (15%): Build reliable Django/DRF services and async pipelines using PostgreSQL models/performance optimization. Example: "Index queries for cases list".
• Async Pipelines & Reliability (15%): Manage Celery/Redis, retries, idempotency, LLM rate limits, evals, observability, SLOs. Example: "Add regression evals and cost tracking".
• Mentoring & Standards (10%): Review code/designs for juniors to reduce repeat issues; write AI-assisted review checklists.
• DevOps & Scoping (10%): Manage Docker/Azure/CI-CD, incident root cause analysis, and scope business requests into tickets. Example: "Prod queue backed up — root-cause it".
