Senior Engineer

About the Opportunity
When is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team as we build the AI workforce transitions platform that turns workforce change into savings. We lower high-cost medical claims, reduce COBRA liability, and protect employer brands by providing departing employees with an excellent benefits-transition experience.

Your Role
As a generalist full-stack engineer, you will own problems end-to-end—from stakeholder conversations to data models to shipped interfaces. Leveraging AI tooling like Claude Code allows our team to ship at rapid pace; you will work directly with stakeholders without waiting for hand-offs.

You Will
• Ship features across the full stack (HR tools and post-employment portals)
• Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with member services, operations, and product teams
• Own product thinking: scope work, weigh tradeoffs, and define what 'done' looks like
• Build AI-driven experiences by integrating LLMs, agents, and skills into core workflows
• Move fast using modern tooling while keeping code clean, testable, and observable

Tech Stack
Frontend: React, TypeScript, MaterialUI, GraphQL | Backend: Node.js, Firebase Functions, Apollo GraphQL, Firestore | AI: LangGraph, Claude / LLM APIs | Ops: GCP (Firebase hosting, BigQuery), GitLab, JIRA

We Are Looking For
• 5+ years of full-stack product development experience
• Strong command or rapid adaptability to React/TypeScript/GraphQL/Node ecosystems
• Cross-functional collaboration skills with non-technical stakeholders
• Product sense: judgment to make scope and tradeoff decisions independently
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor) in daily workflows
• Understanding of building with LLMs: agents, prompt design, scalability

Nice to Have
Experience in health insurance or regulated fintech domains (HIPAA/PHI compliance), data analytics instrumentation, and experience laying technical foundations on small teams.
