Senior Engineer

About the Role

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Senior Engineer (Staff level) to provide hands-on technical leadership across the software engineering organization. In this role, you will shape and advance technology strategy, lead the design of complex and highly scalable solutions, and establish reusable components that improve effectiveness across the team.

Your Impact

• Technical Leadership: Translate complex product needs into enterprise-ready technical strategies and set direction through collaboration.
• Software Architecture & Design: Lead the design of scalable, secure, reliable systems aligned with future-state architecture and modern engineering patterns.
• Engineering Excellence: Champion automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability (Application Insights, KQL), security, and operational readiness throughout the software lifecycle.
• Mentorship & Team Growth: Elevate capability through technical mentorship, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and practical coaching of senior engineers.
• Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies including AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve delivery while maintaining ownership of code quality.

Essential Job Functions

You will design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain complex enterprise-scale production software. You'll own solution design in alignment with security expectations and operational requirements. Lead technical design reviews, resolve systemic engineering challenges, and ensure solutions meet rigorous standards for quality and performance.

Technical Environment

• Languages & Frameworks: Deep hands-on experience with modern programming languages and stacks; proficiency in ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework or Dapper.
• Data & Cloud: Proficiency with SQL/SQL Server, Experience with Azure, Docker, containerization, serverless patterns, Terraform (IaC), and polyglot data architectures including Databricks.
• Distributed Systems: Proven experience with microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns, and Service Bus.
