Senior Engineer

We are seeking experienced Senior / Lead Engineers to design, develop, and scale robust, production-grade data and platform systems within Blenheim's product ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role with significant responsibility for end-to-end ownership of complex problem areas, influencing system architecture, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering scalable solutions in a dynamic, product-focused environment.

The Role:

As a Senior / Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable systems across our core platforms. You will closely collaborate with Product, Data, and Engineering teams located in Mumbai and London, contributing to technical direction while maintaining a hands-on approach to development.

Key Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will assume a leading position within our Engineering Centre of Excellence in Mumbai. Daily responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring engineering teams, cultivating a collaborative culture and driving continuous improvement.
• Overseeing project planning and execution to ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines.
• Providing technical leadership and expertise, championing engineering best practices.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Implementing and maintaining ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes using scalable data pipelines and architecture.
• Ensuring data integrity and quality across diverse data sources.
• Supporting data-driven decision-making through the provision of clean, reliable, and timely data.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining data models utilized by ML Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists.
• Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify key patterns and trends.
• Identifying opportunities for process enhancement and driving operational efficiency.
• Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.

You are hands-on when necessary, effectively coach others, and make informed design trade-offs that benefit customers and the business. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively across teams, and maintain focus on high-impact initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses professional experience in full-stack software engineering with a demonstrated ability to architect and deliver production systems at scale.
• Has a proven track record of mentoring engineers, developing talent, and improving code quality standards.
• Demonstrates strong proficiency in one or more key programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Extensive experience with various database systems, including SQL and NoSQL.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS or Azure (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Data Factory, Azure Synapse).
• Experience with CI/CD practices for data solutions.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) and building AI-enabled features (e.g., LLMs, automation workflows, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development) to enhance product capabilities and engineering productivity.
• Proven ability to take ownership of deliverables and drive complex data projects to successful completion.
• Highly adaptable and comfortable working in ambiguous, problem-solving environments.
• Demonstrates strong teamwork and successful cross-functional delivery, including collaboration with customers, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams.
• Possesses excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
