Senior Engineer

Syneos Health is seeking a Senior Front End Web Developer to join our Technical Delivery Center in Hyderabad, India. This role is critical for modernizing our healthcare analytics platforms, utilized by pharmaceutical and life sciences companies worldwide.

As a Senior Front End Web Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge web applications for our healthcare analytics product suite. A key focus of this position will be the migration of our existing platform to Next.js/React, contributing to products that provide valuable insights to global pharmaceutical clients.

This hybrid role requires you to work from our Hyderabad office 2-3 days a week, with work hours overlapping with EST (no later than 10-10:30 pm IST).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications utilizing Next.js and React as primary frameworks.
• Lead and contribute to the migration of existing Svelte/SvelteKit applications to Next.js, ensuring a smooth transition.
• Build sophisticated UI components for analytics dashboards, incorporating complex data grids (AG Grid), charts (ECharts/D3.js), and interactive visualizations.
• Implement advanced filtering systems with boolean logic across diverse healthcare data dimensions such as NDC, NPI, ICD, and procedure codes.
• Collaborate closely with .NET Core middleware engineers and Snowflake data teams for API integration and UI performance optimization.
• Develop comprehensive tests using Vitest, Playwright, and BackstopJS.
• Mentor junior UI engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion frontend best practices.
• Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible user interfaces.
• Support Azure-hosted deployments through CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Ensure enterprise compliance, including role-based access control and WCAG accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional frontend/UI development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with modern ES6+ patterns.
• Proven hands-on experience with Next.js and React.js for production-grade, server-rendered applications.
• Deep understanding of Next.js concepts including App Router, Server Components, SSR/SSG/ISR, API routes, and middleware.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with data-heavy UI components such as AG Grid and charting libraries (ECharts, Chart.js, or D3.js).
• Proficiency in frontend testing frameworks like Vitest, Jest, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API integration and state management patterns.
• Availability to work the hybrid model during the designated work hours starting September 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with .NET Core or Node.js backend technologies.
• Familiarity with Svelte/SvelteKit.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services (App Service, AKS, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of healthcare/pharmaceutical domain data.
• Experience with Figma-to-code workflows and design system implementation.
• Knowledge of role-based authorization and enterprise security patterns.
