Senior Electroacoustics Engineer - Audio Systems
Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a passionate Senior Electroacoustics Engineer to join our Advanced Tech R&D team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on the tuning and sound quality optimization of audio and voice for various products, including earbuds, phones, PCs, XR, and vehicles. Leverage your expertise in signal processing, acoustic simulation, and electroacoustic principles to elevate the auditory experiences delivered to our global customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate audio signal processing and machine learning solutions for diverse Qualcomm products.
- Conduct acoustic analysis/assessments and validate product designs through measurement and simulation.
- Develop and validate acoustic models using simulation tools such as FEA, BEM, and COMSOL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on acoustic design integration and product development.
- Create performance reports and provide actionable sound quality recommendations.
- Design and conduct audio listening experiments, including statistical analysis.
- Stay current with the latest trends and innovations in acoustics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong foundation in signal processing, acoustic theory, and electroacoustic fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for audio analysis and simulation.
- Experience with audio signal modeling, algorithm development, and system tuning/calibration.
- Knowledge of C, C++, or other programming languages for audio applications.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application to audio.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with FEA/BEM methods and simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL) for acoustic design.
- Familiarity with ApX and HEAD Acoustics for acoustic measurement and analysis.
- Experience implementing and managing electroacoustic laboratories.
- Statistical analysis skills, preferably including R.
- Knowledge of electroacoustic standards, such as 3GPP, ETSI, ITU-T, and CTIA.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, Electronics, Electrical or a related field plus 3+ years of related experience; OR
- PhD in Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience; OR
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience; OR
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
