Senior Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer is critical to maintaining the operational excellence, security, and reliability of Stryker's enterprise data & analytics platform hosted on Azure. This role blends advanced DevOps automation with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles across a comprehensive stack including Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Key Vault, and Unity Catalog.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Management: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate deployments across dev, test, and production environments, ensuring high availability through efficient workflow management.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement consistent infrastructure provisioning using Terraform. Manage workspaces, compute resources, storage, networking, and access controls while actively monitoring for configuration drift.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices including RBAC implementation, secrets management via Key Vault, identity integration, and least-privilege access policies across all Azure data services.
• Reliability Engineering: Lead platform monitoring, alerting strategies, performance tuning, and incident response. Focus on root-cause analysis to drive preventive fixes that protect SLAs for global engineering teams.
• Data Operations Partnership: Collaborate with Data Platform and Product teams to build operational data pipelines, orchestrate complex workflows within Databricks, and ensure seamless integration runtimes.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field.
• Experience Level: 2-5 years of hands-on experience specifically with cloud engineering, data warehousing, and modern analytics platforms (Azure ecosystem).
• Azure Expertise: Deep proficiency in Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Key Vault, and Unity Catalog.
• Certifications & Skills: Proven ability to implement governance frameworks. Experience with Terraform for IaC is essential. Knowledge of CI/CD automation in Azure DevOps is required.
