Senior DevOps Engineer

Avathon, a leader in physical AI, is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our agile development team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in building software pipelines, creating repeatable deployments, and managing cloud infrastructure. As a Sr. DevOps Engineer in Bengaluru/Bangalore, you will collaborate with a team of skilled engineers and AI enthusiasts to enhance our operational technology platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design and continuously enhance the infrastructure supporting our cloud-based services and client interfaces.
• Manage the daily operations of our build, testing, and continuous integration environments.
• Collaborate with internal IT, Software Engineers, Cloud Architects, and fellow DevOps Engineers to develop and maintain development and production environments.
• Implement best practices to ensure always-up, always-available services.
• Proactively communicate project and task status to stakeholders.
• Provide occasional on-call support and participate in customer meetings, which may require working irregular hours.

Required Skills:

• Kubernetes Architecture & Operations: Minimum 2 years of experience managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters (GKE preferred), including K8s internals, Helm chart development, Service Mesh (Istio), and autoscaling (HPA/VPA).
• GitOps & CI/CD: Demonstrated ability to design container-native pipelines and manage cluster state using GitOps (ArgoCD) alongside standard CI tools.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient with Terraform for provisioning cloud resources and bootstrapping clusters.
• Observability & Reliability: Hands-on experience with full-stack observability for microservices, utilizing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki, and distributed tracing for system reliability and rapid incident response.
• Core Engineering Foundation: Minimum 2 years in DevOps/Linux Administration with strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go) and a proven track record of automating workflows in dynamic cloud environments.
• A strong passion for AI and operational technology is a plus.
