Senior Developer - Java/JavaScript/AngularJS in Pune, India

SAP, a global leader in enterprise software, is seeking a Senior Developer with expertise in Java, JavaScript, and AngularJS to join their Procurement Product Team in Pune, India. This role is integral to developing and enhancing SAP's cloud-based spend management solutions, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba Applications & Business Network, and SAP Fieldglass.

The SAP Procurement Product Team is dedicated to providing the world's leading cloud-based spend management solution. As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the development of these critical platforms, working with the latest Infrastructure & Platform-as-a-Service (SAP BTP) technologies.

What You Will Do:

• Provide superior technical leadership and possess strong communication skills, demonstrating independence in decision-making.
• Define the product's architecture in collaboration with implementation teams.
• Evaluate architecture risks, estimate effort for business cases or backlog items, and prepare management decisions.
• Translate business and product requirements into technical requirements, models, and software architecture.
• Independently perform tasks and make decisions to ensure high-quality, timely, and efficient delivery.
• Apply clean code principles, execute code reviews, code inspections, unit testing, and performance measurements.
• Understand and implement CI/CD concepts, processes, tools, and methodologies.

What You Will Bring:

• A strong educational background with 7-14 years of experience in software development.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Architect or Senior Technical Lead in designing and developing SaaS applications on any cloud technology.
• Expert proficiency in Java, including Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Web Technologies.
• Strong grasp of at least one relational database system, such as SAP Hana, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Proficiency in UI technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, CSS, and jQuery. SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements are a plus.
• Understanding of Microservices, event-driven, and CQRS architecture.
• Knowledge of exposing and consuming SAP oData V2, V4, and RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of Component and E2E testing, with hands-on experience using an automated testing tool.
• Ability to author software designs, technical documentation, and automation tests.
• Exposure to all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design.

This role is part of the Platform Application Services (PAS) team within Ariba, focused on innovation programs to enhance customer satisfaction and address key pain points. The team is working in a rapid development mode to achieve its 2025 vision, with new innovations in the pipeline. The team is geographically distributed across Pune (India), Bangalore (India), and Palo Alto (USA).
