Senior Desktop Engineer

ZingHR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team in Mumbai. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management, support, and deployment of end-user computing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and associated peripherals.
• Provide essential L1/L2 technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Perform advanced (L2/L3) troubleshooting for complex technical challenges impacting desktop and network infrastructure.
• Execute seamless laptop and desktop deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
• Manage and execute Operating System upgrades, implement patch management strategies, and enforce security hardening measures for Windows 10/11 environments.
• Administer user accounts and access controls within Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policies.
• Leverage and manage endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, and ManageEngine.
• Proactively monitor endpoint security using antivirus, EDR, and DLP solutions.
• Liaise with vendors for procurement, warranty management, and technical escalations.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management, from procurement through to disposal.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing necessary documentation.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Implement and manage endpoint encryption and data protection policies.
• Collaborate effectively with network, server, cloud, and security teams to ensure integrated IT operations.
• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain high levels of user satisfaction.
• Manage Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers and associated storage solutions.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy administration.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN.
• Proven experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), device compliance, and conditional access policies.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and BitLocker.

Educational Qualifications and Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
• Preferred Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator / Endpoint Administrator
• ITIL Foundation
• CompTIA A+ / Network+
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104)

Experience

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in enterprise desktop support and management.
