Senior Design Engineer
About This Role:
You will lead the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical components within Stryker's medical device domain. Your work will span multiple concurrent projects, including product engineering, gap assessments, manufacturing transfers, and regulatory initiatives.
- Derive or remediate design requirements to meet user needs for performance and reliability. Create comprehensive Design History Files (DHF), Device Master Records, technical drawings, labels, packaging instructions, and more.Drive engineering changes through rigorous planning, impact analysis, change order creation, multi-level review processes, and stakeholder coordination.Execute New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept to launch across all lifecycle phases.Perform advanced engineering analyses using simulation, design of experiments (DOE), statistics, and calculations.Liaise with lab teams for verification/validation activities, including test method development, protocol execution, validation, analysis, and reporting.Schedule-driven collaboration with divisional partners to meet cost, quality, and timeline baselines.Engage in global technical discussions with SMEs and vendors.Implement NC CAPA, design controls, and risk control measures effectively.
Required Skills:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 4-8 years of work experience.
Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in creating engineering drawings/models, applying GD&T and CAE tools. Deep expertise in thermal simulations is mandatory.
Domain Knowledge: Hands-on experience with electromechanical devices/enclosures; skilled in DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFI, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
CAD Tools: Adept application of Creo, SolidWorks, or UniGraphics. Strong knowledge of sheet metal and plastic parts design/manufacturing/testing.DFA & Change Management: Understanding of the engineering change process (creating ECOs/ECNs), conducting reviews, and implementation.
Analytical Skills: Competency in statistics, process capability studies, DOE, and tools like Minitab. Highly developed problem-solving skills with a track record resolving project-level issues.
- Tolerance analysis, CFD, and FEA using ANSYS software.
Experience designing for imaging products/cameras.
Background in regulated industries: Medical Devices, Aerospace, Automotive. Understanding of relevant standards/regulations.
