Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer supporting the Drivetrain Platform Team in Decatur, IL, you will be instrumental in designing cutting-edge systems for large mining trucks and diverse applications. Your role will involve meticulous management of design changes, proactive resolution of production issues, and seamless communication with process partners through Content Definition and Design Reviews. You'll serve as the primary engineering point of contact for factory support on Assurance of Supply Issues, collaborating closely with factory personnel to address and resolve current product BIQ (Built-in Quality) issues and New Product Introduction (NPI) challenges. Maintaining a dashboard of active BIQ issues and their resolution status will be a key responsibility. Proficiency in managing large assemblies using Creo and Teamcenter is essential, as is the ability to release engine arrangements and other platform-owned drawings. You will be tasked with investigating current production issues (CPI), deploying product robustness initiatives (AM Growth), evaluating part resourcing, and leading cost reduction projects, all while managing design control requests.
