Senior Data Scientist

Join Amgen's Global Medical Affairs team in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India, as a Senior Medical Data Scientist. This critical role supports scientific engagement, strategic decision-making, and patient-focused initiatives by designing and deploying advanced data science solutions. You will leverage cutting-edge techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and Large Language Models (LLMs), to translate complex structured and unstructured data into actionable intelligence. This hands-on, technical position requires deep data science expertise, robust problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor peers. You will work with diverse datasets such as HCP sentiment, scientific engagement data, publications, and CRM/field medical data, utilizing Python, R, and SQL. Key responsibilities include designing and executing high-impact projects, driving test-and-learn approaches, partnering with business leaders to define problem statements, and optimizing data pipelines. You will translate complex model outputs into clear insights and compelling presentations for leadership. We seek individuals passionate about emerging technologies like Generative AI and LLMs, who can contribute to strengthening our data science capabilities. Upholding best practices in reproducibility, documentation, and model governance is essential. This role requires a PhD with 2+ years of experience, a Master's with 5+ years, or a Bachelor's with 7+ years in a quantitative field. Preferred qualifications include life sciences or pharma experience, familiarity with ML frameworks, LLMs, RAG architectures, MLflow, AWS, Git, and a track record of peer mentorship.
