About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist (Credit & Risk Analytics) with 3–5 years of experience to join our team supporting a UK-based fintech client. As an embedded analytics leader, you will own the full lifecycle of credit risk models—from development and validation to production deployment—directly impacting portfolio strategy and responsible lending.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and refine credit risk scorecards, loss forecasting, collections, and behavioral models using diverse datasets (credit bureau, loan performance, transactional data).
• Develop robust solutions in Python ensuring scalability, reproducibility, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Partner with Engineering teams to deploy models into real-time decisioning environments for operational resilience.
• Optimize automated loan decisioning systems while maintaining fairness, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead model monitoring frameworks to proactively identify drift and stability risks.
• Perform advanced feature engineering to uncover new risk drivers and unlock portfolio value.
• Translate complex statistical outputs into clear narratives for senior stakeholders to drive business decisions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Data Science / Risk Analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of regression/classification techniques, model validation metrics (AUC, KS, Gini), bias/variance trade-offs, and interpretability.
