Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer within the CCG EU Information Technology (IT) team, you will join the Fisher Scientific Research Safety Division (RSD). You are integral to integrating and delivering Global IT solutions across multiple enterprise applications.
A Day in the Life
- Data Management & Development: Lead data engineering efforts by designing robust pipelines, building reusable components at scale, and fostering innovation within the team.
- Data Analysis: Participate in collaborative workshops to gather requirements from business partners. Produce clear documentation of success criteria, use cases, and metrics to measure ROI.
- Automation & Hypercare Management: Identify opportunities for platform automation and manage knowledge transfer into hyper-care support phases with operational teams and IT functions.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (Master's preferred).
- Over 6 years of industry experience, including 3+ years as a Data Engineer specifically within the supply chain business.
- Strong expertise in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Scala.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and Big Data technologies like Spark, HBase, Cassandra, Hive, Storm, Flume, Pig, or Impala.
Skills & Attributes
You must possess a deep understanding of design principles and architectural patterns. You should be an effective communicator and mentor capable of leading teams within Agile development approaches. Continuous learning is essential, along with strong technical writing skills for documentation.
