Senior Data Engineer

Experian seeks a passionate Senior Data Engineer to join one of our accomplished IT teams in Hyderabad. As a vital member of our core development product teams, you will contribute to products that enhance our BI Commercial Credit offering. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, from database maintenance to application development, utilizing various languages and tools. You will collaborate with team members and provide support to other Experian departments, including client delivery analysts, Database Administrators, and other development teams working on data-driven projects. Data security and platform management within the team will also be under your purview. You will report to a Manager.

Our technology stack includes Oracle and Exadata for large-scale data management, with PL/SQL and Python utilized in our ETL processes. Application development is performed in Python or Java, hosted on the AWS cloud. We are involved in all development phases, from design and testing to deployment, leveraging Experian's comprehensive DevOps tools like Jenkins and Harness for automated deployment.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience with Oracle SQL / PLSQL on enterprise databases.
• Proficiency in data engineering for ETL of large datasets.
• Solid knowledge of Java and Python.
• Experience with AWS Cloud for data storage and API hosting.
• Familiarity with CoaaS / Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Harness, and Artifactory.

Experience & Skills:

• Ability to establish trust-based relationships.
• Skilled in designing solutions and communicating with stakeholders to ensure optimal decision-making.
• Experience in coaching, assisting, and reviewing code for other developers or teams.
• A proactive attitude towards developing new skills and sharing acquired knowledge with junior colleagues.
• Capability to improve existing data engineering processes and methodologies for enhanced effectiveness.
• Desirable: Knowledge of working with and modeling financial or credit data.
• Desirable: Experience working in a financial regulated environment.
