Senior Data Analyst - Hybrid in Kolkata
Sigmoid Analytics is seeking a talented Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in Kolkata. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of data analytics, data visualization, and business intelligence challenges across diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with clients to thoroughly understand their business context and objectives.
- Map and document intricate business processes in clear, visual formats.
- Translate complex business problems into structured analytical frameworks, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques for effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists and engineers to integrate AI and advanced analytics into core business decision-making processes.
- Identify and propose actionable strategies for business improvement.
- Articulate the value and benefits of analytical findings, presenting clear recommendations and insights to clients.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Proven ability in developing and enhancing algorithms and models to address specific business problems.
- Experience in providing end-to-end analytical support across various industry domains and application areas.
- Proficiency in data quality assessment, evaluating data usability and sufficiency for achieving desired analytical and business outcomes.
- Skilled in generating data outputs according to precise specifications, including survey data cleanup, data weighting, variable recoding, custom tabular view creation, and running cross-tabulations.
- Strong capabilities in conducting quantitative analyses and interpreting results effectively.
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Spotfire.
- Proficiency with MS SQL Database and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Python is considered a valuable asset.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with storyboarding and client interaction is highly advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience
- 2.5 to 3.5 years of relevant analytics experience, with a strong focus on problem-solving and advanced analytics solutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech), an MBA, or an advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent field.
