Senior Consultant - Technology Strategy & Transformation

Ernst & Young (EY) is seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in Technology Strategy and Transformation within the Financial Services (FS) sector. This role focuses on driving application engineering and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide senior-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases.
• Integrate third-party products and translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects.
• Write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports, employing software development techniques to support automation.
• Lead backend system optimization efforts to ensure high performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Spearhead the integration of multiple data sources, APIs, and services to streamline data flow and enhance system efficiency.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed backend documentation for cross-functional teams.
• Advocate and implement best practices for security, data protection, and backend resilience in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with front-end teams to design backend interfaces that support seamless user experiences.
• Manage the elevation of code into development, test, and production environments, providing follow-up production support and managing change control requests.
• Understand software development methodologies and architecture standards, mentoring junior staff, and resolving elevated issues.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the lifecycle and explain technical considerations in meetings with internal clients.
• Perform systems analysis activities and understand client business functions and technology needs.
• Interface with cross-functional team members and communicate systems issues effectively to different audiences.
• Comply with IT and Information Security policies and procedures, ensuring deliverables meet requirements.
• Participate in special projects and perform other assigned duties.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

• Expertise in server-side development, system integration, and API management.
• Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Must-have skills include: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, IAM, SQL queries, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, Splunk, Honeycomb, Python.
• Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, and JIRA, with an aptitude for continuous process improvement.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and AWS Cloud is beneficial.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or a related field, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
