Senior Consultant

Join EY's Business Consulting practice as a Senior Consultant, specializing in Supply Chain & Operations within the Advanced Manufacturing, Mobility & Infrastructure (AMI) and Connected, Next-Gen Services (CNS) sectors. Based in Mumbai, India, you will help clients navigate the complexities of evolving business landscapes, from how goods and services are devised and created to how they are bought and sold. We collaborate across sectors facing common challenges to drive effective cross-sector solutions and leverage global priority sector infrastructure.

Within Business Consulting, you will address strategic problems, reimagine business models, drive growth, manage costs, and resolve operational challenges. This role specifically focuses on Supply Chain and Operations, where you will combine industry insights, operational expertise, financial acumen, and digital technology to deliver better outcomes. You will help clients effect fundamental changes in their operations' performance to support sales growth, enhance cost competitiveness, minimize risk, and ensure operational resilience.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Optimizing costs across manufacturing, procurement, and logistics, and achieving procurement and operational excellence.
• Developing sourcing strategies and transforming procurement functions.
• Designing and implementing procurement operating models.
• Gaining knowledge across supply chain domains including planning, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics.
• Working on strategic sourcing, spend analysis, opportunity assessments, cost optimization, category management, supplier evaluation, and RFP/RFQ creation and analysis.
• Conducting supplier negotiations and delivering savings.
• Supporting business development activities and building strong client relationships.
• Developing current state assessments, gap analyses, and creating future state operating models and governance frameworks.
• Participating in and conducting workshops.
• Analyzing large spend data to derive actionable insights.
• Reviewing and validating data, building analytical reports, and presentations.
• Conducting secondary research and market intelligence to support client deliverables.
• Contributing to business development, knowledge sharing, and coaching junior colleagues.

To qualify for this role, you will need:

• Education: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, Industrials, Civil) and a Master's degree (MBA/ M. Tech/ MS).
• 3 to 7 years of experience in Supply Chain and Operations projects.
• Industry experience or prior consulting experience is a plus.
• Experience in procurement strategy, category management, contract management, spend analytics, and should cost models.
• Experience in operating model redesign, governance frameworks, strategic sourcing, and cost modeling.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Industrial Products, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Construction, EPC, or Mineral & Metal sectors.
• Strong business acumen and technical expertise.
• Willingness to travel for project delivery, business development, and other business needs.
