Senior Cloud Architect & Engineer in Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Unison Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Architect & Engineer to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE). This hybrid role requires a strong blend of architecture leadership for enterprise-scale cloud solutions and hands-on engineering delivery. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional engineering capabilities to design, build, and implement cloud-native solutions from end-to-end. You will play a key role in shaping cloud standards, security controls, and cost optimization practices, collaborating closely with application, operations, and business teams. Deep expertise in AWS services, CI/CD automation, Java (specifically the Spring Boot framework), scripting, and cloud security, combined with proven troubleshooting skills, is essential for delivering secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership

• Lead the design of cloud-native architectures for complex, large-scale enterprise and digital-native workloads.
• Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, and best practices for multitier, microservices, and serverless applications.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for scalability, resilience, performance, and cost optimization.
• Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to align architectures with organizational goals and compliance standards.

Engineering Execution

• Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Java with the Spring Boot framework and related technologies.
• Architect and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable delivery.
• Provision and manage AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, and ELB.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across applications and infrastructure in both production and non-production environments.

Collaboration & Governance

• Work with CloudOps, DBA, Security, and application teams to deliver compliant and cost-optimized solutions.
• Ensure designs and implementations meet cloud governance and security standards.
• Support the CCoE in driving adoption of best practices and reusable frameworks across projects.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering roles.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS core services (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, ELB, VPC, IAM).
• Proficiency in Java with expertise in the Spring Boot framework.
• Solid understanding of container-based deployments, orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure architectures.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD and automation frameworks (GitLab, CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Working knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and encryption practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage executives, architects, and developers.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications: Solutions Architect – Professional, DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS) and serverless design patterns.
• Knowledge of observability frameworks (CloudWatch, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus).
• Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures (AWS and OCI).
• Experience working in high-scale, high-availability environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end architecture + engineering projects in enterprise or digital-native organizations.
