Senior Business Analytics Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Business Analytics Engineer at Juniper Square. You will be responsible for producing the critical revenue metrics that drive our business decisions across Sales, Finance, Fund Administration, and Leadership teams.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Data Transformation & Modeling: Own dbt models for revenue and customer data sourced from CRM, CPQ, billing, and ERP systems. Model the entire chain from quote to recognized revenue at entity and service grain.
  
• Semantic Layer Expertise: Define and govern certified metrics like ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) and CARR (Contracted Annual Recurring Revenue). Create definitions precise enough for both human analysts and AI agents. Work with NetSuite to reconcile financial data.
• Requirements Translation: Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and Data Engineering, translating complex questions into technical requirements regarding source data grain, freshness, and quality.
  
• AI-Assisted Reporting: Build an AI-assisted reporting layer on top of governed definitions. Enable tools like Claude to return certified answers for revenue queries.
• Governance & Controls: Apply access controls suited for financial data within SOX, SOC 1, and SOC 2 scopes.
  
• Dashboards & Measurement: Stand up measurement programs (e.g., Lead-to-Cash) to show monthly progress in numbers rather than status updates.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI.
  
• At least 2 years owning dbt models in production.
  
• Expert SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning).
  
• Hands-on experience with semantic layer tools (dbt Semantic Layer/MetricFlow, LookML, Cube).
