Senior Business Analyst

Location: Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI SME with deep expertise in Power BI and SQL, primarily responsible for migrating dashboards from legacy BI platforms (Tableau / Looker / Excel / other tools) into Power BI. The ideal candidate should be extremely strong in Power BI data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, and report architecture, with solid SQL skills and good understanding of data warehousing concepts. This role requires strong communication skills, as the candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to understand existing reports, redesign them where necessary, and ensure accurate, optimized migration into Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Migration

  • Lead end-to-end migration of dashboards from Tableau / Looker / other BI tools to Power BI.
  • Analyze legacy dashboards and understand underlying business logic.
  • Recreate, optimize, and enhance dashboards in Power BI.
  • Validate migrated dashboards against source reports for accuracy and consistency.
  • Improve data models and performance during migration (not just lift-and-shift).

Power BI Expertise

  • Design scalable Power BI data models (star schema, fact-dimension modeling).
  • Write advanced DAX calculations.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) where required.
  • Optimize report performance and refresh efficiency.
  • Manage Power BI Service, workspaces, and deployment pipelines.

SQL & Data Warehousing

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Validate data between source systems and reporting layers.
  • Work with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams for data pipeline troubleshooting.
  • Understand ETL/ELT logic impacting dashboards.

Stakeholder & Communication

  • Gather requirements from business users.
  • Clearly explain data logic and report structures.
  • Present migrated dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Document migration process and report logic.
  • Mentor and train juniors on Power BI.

Mandatory Skills

  • 6–10 years of experience in BI / Analytics.
  • Expert-level Power BI skills (primary requirement).
  • Strong SQL knowledge (mandatory).
  • Experience migrating dashboards across BI platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working in client-facing environments.

Good to Have

  • Tableau knowledge.
  • Experience with Looker or other visualization tools.
  • Experience in digital marketing analytics.
  • Exposure to cloud ecosystems.
