Senior Backend Engineer II

About the Role

Join the Vertical Experiences team as a Senior Backend Engineer II in our AI Native division. You will build high-throughput, low-latency cloud services that power Life360's connected devices, translating real-world signals into reliable systems for millions of users.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and maintain backend services supporting device connectivity, telemetry ingest, and health monitoring on AWS (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Build data pipelines using Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
• Daily orchestration of AI coding agents for spec writing, code generation, testing, reviews, and system design.
• Instrument services for observability and SLO compliance while participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building backend services in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Strong expertise with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Hands-on agentic AI workflow experience using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
