Senior Backend Engineer

Senior Backend Engineer - BukuWarung, Hyderabad

BukuWarung is seeking experienced backend engineers to design, develop, and maintain large-scale technology initiatives. You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive project delivery from analysis and design through to implementation, testing, and deployment. Our technology stack includes Java, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Redis, with infrastructure hosted on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement new backend services and applications.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, including coding, automated testing, and production releases.
• Contribute to and enforce department best practices, guidelines, and standards.
• Engage in application design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs efficiently.

Technical Expectations:

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications.
• Define and implement metrics for diagnostics and performance monitoring.
• Experience with web services standards and technologies such as HTTP, Spring, XML, JSON, and REST.
• Proficiency in Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring, coupled with good programming practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, object-oriented design, and systems architecture.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented software development principles.
• Experience navigating and maintaining large, complex codebases, with a focus on API design for maintainability.
• Proficiency in Java and familiarity with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of multithreading and memory management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
• Mentoring junior developers is a plus.
• A Master's degree in Computer Science and 1-3 years of software development experience is preferred.
