Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for Gurgaon-based PocketPills (Canada's online pharmacy). This role involves designing scalable server-side logic using Java and Spring Framework, ensuring security, and maintaining our technology stack including SQL databases. You will work in an agile environment developing features that directly impact users across Canada.

• Participate in all agile rituals: daily stand-ups, iteration planning, story huddles, retrospectives, and burn-up chart creation.
• Capture all work items accurately in Jira.
• Mentor a team of 4-6 junior engineers through coaching and educational support.

• B. Tech/BE in Computer Science or Engineering (required).
• 5 - 9 years experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, OOP, data structures, algorithms, and SQL.
• Proficiency with Hibernate, Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Demonstrated expertise in system design/architecture and building services from scratch for eCommerce operations.
• Eagerness to solve problems in a growth-stage startup environment without constraints on current knowledge.
• Willingness to work with the development team based in Canada as per business needs (Gurgaon location).
