Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Skyfall AI is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This permanent position offers the opportunity to build critical integrations that power enterprise intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain integrations connecting Skyfall's AI layer with enterprise software such as ServiceNow, ITSMI, JSM, BMC Remedy, Workday, Oracle, and SAP.
• Construct scalable, high-performance APIs and connectors for efficient data ingestion and bidirectional synchronization.
• Implement robust and secure authentication mechanisms, including OAuth, SAML, JWT, and API keys, for accessing external systems.
• Utilize REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs to extract and process both structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure data normalization, transformation, and accurate mapping between disparate enterprise software schemas.
• Optimize API performance to handle low-latency, high-volume enterprise workloads.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, actively monitor API health, and develop resilient, fault-tolerant data pipelines.
• Collaborate effectively with AI, front-end, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with product features.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on integrations with enterprise software.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java for building robust API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs.
• In-depth understanding of enterprise ITSM, HR, and ERP systems like ServiceNow, Workday, Oracle, SAP, BMC Remedy, and JSM.
• Experience implementing security protocols such as OAuth, SAML, JWT, and adherence to API security best practices.
• Strong skills in database design and query optimization using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Solid knowledge of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Prior experience integrating IT asset management software such as Flexera or Tanium.
• Experience working with enterprise middleware solutions like MuleSoft, Boomi, or Apache Camel.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow APIs, including Table, Import Set, Scripted APIs, MID Server, and Webhooks.
• Exposure to AI-powered workflow automation.
