Senior Backend Engineer at Arcana in Bangalore

Responsibilities:

• Architect, refine, and enhance the capabilities of complex backend systems using Python, with a primary focus on efficiency, durability, and scalability in a Bangalore-based role.
• Elevate application performance by optimizing for speed, scalability, and resource allocation within our financial technology solutions.
• Develop robust methodologies to manage high concurrency and substantial data volumes, setting new industry benchmarks for backend engineering.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate requirements into resilient, scalable architectures.
• Utilize advanced storage solutions and databases such as Redis, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse to improve system integrity and performance.
• Champion coding excellence, rigorous testing, and precise deployment, driving best practices throughout the development lifecycle for backend systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend development with Python in a production environment.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling compute and I/O-intensive applications.
• Strong foundation in computer science, including a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Proven ability to handle concurrent requests at scale and optimize large-scale systems for performance and reliability.
• Familiarity with database technologies including Redis, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
• Previous experience in the financial sector, especially in developing fintech applications or systems, is a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
