About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and scale AI-powered applications and backend platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend engineering, cloud-native architectures, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, Agentic AI frameworks, and production-grade LLM deployment.
Responsibilities
  • Backend Engineering & Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, and asynchronous microservices architectures. Build and optimize data-intensive applications using PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB at production scale.
  • Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps: Architect cloud-native applications on AWS or GCP (ECS, Lambda). Implement IaC with Terraform/Cloudformation. Build robust CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • RAG & Agentic AI Systems: Design production-grade RAG pipelines using BM25/pgvector/vector databases. Build agentic workflows (LangGraph) with tool calling and multi-step orchestration, ensuring security guardrails like fallback routing and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Monitoring and Observability: Instrument services end-to-end using OpenTelemetry. Utilize stacks like Prometheus+Grafana or Datadog/Loki for centralized logging. Gain experience with LLM observability tools (Langfuse, LangSmith).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science.
  • 4+ years of backend development experience with significant Python and FastAPI expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with asynchronous microservices, PostgreSQL/MongoDB/Redis, and AWS/GCP cloud platforms.
  • Proven track record building RAG systems, agentic AI architectures (LangGraph), and utilizing modern AI coding agents (Cursor/Claude Code).
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset, mentoring capabilities, and knowledge of production guardrails for LLMs.
