The central Advanced Analytics team at Abbott Established Pharma Division’s (EPD) headquarters in Basel is instrumental in guiding the company's transformation into a global, data-driven organization. Leveraging advanced technologies such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Computer Vision, this team plays a crucial role in achieving current and future business objectives. Advanced Analytics is recognized as a key differentiator, driving sustainable revenue growth and optimizing margins. As an integral part of the Strategy Management Office at EPD, the Advanced Analytics team maintains close collaboration and regular interaction with the EPD Senior Leadership Team.

Primary Job Function:

In line with these requirements, EPD seeks to hire a Senior Analytics Developer, reporting to the Head of AA Product Development. This role is responsible for developing and continuously refining enterprise-grade analytics products and applications using the AWS cloud platform. The position involves leading Advanced Analytics Product initiatives, ensuring the delivery of robust cloud-based products, and fostering innovation to meet the business's advanced analytics needs.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain responsive mobile and web applications (React Native / React JS).
• Design and implement backend services utilizing AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, and other AWS services.
• Integrate third-party APIs and manage authentication/authorization mechanisms (e.g., Cognito, OAuth).
• Ensure applications exhibit high performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Actively participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using AWS tools such as CloudWatch and X-Ray.

Position Accountability/Scope:

The Analytics Developer will be accountable for achieving targeted business impact on a per-initiative basis, working collaboratively with key stakeholders. This role carries significant responsibility for the development and management of strategic AI/AA products and applications, thereby enabling faster, better, and more informed decision-making across the business.

Minimum Education:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering is required.

Minimum Experience:

• A minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a Python Developer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying backend services on cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services, with a preference for AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, and Cognito.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, such as AWS CodePipeline or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in developing machine learning algorithms and GenAI applications.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, ECS, or EKS.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Experience with version control systems like AWS CodeCommit.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture and services like AWS Lambda.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices and their implementation.
