Senior UX Product Manager - User Experience & AI

At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. That’s why we built the most complete cloud analytics and data platform for AI. By delivering harmonized data, trusted AI, and faster innovation, we uplift and empower our customers—and their customers—to make better, more confident decisions. The world’s top companies across every major industry trust Teradata to improve business performance, enrich customer experiences, and fully integrate data across the enterprise.

Role Summary

Teradata is seeking a Senior UX Product Manager to define and advance the end-to-end user experience foundations and optimize first-time and returning user journeys across all access layers of our data platform. This encompasses web UI, APIs, conversational agents, SQL IDEs, and CLIs. You will be responsible for experience primitives, global patterns, and experience contracts that ensure consistent, scalable experiences, while focusing on onboarding, navigation, and time-to-value for each user persona. This role operates across product, design, and UI engineering organizations, serving as a key partner to vertical product managers for capabilities spanning multiple access layers. This position is crucial for enabling product teams to innovate faster by standardizing foundational user experiences and preventing inconsistencies.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Layer Experience Primitives

Define, document, and evolve the core experience primitives that require consistent behavior across all access layers, including but not limited to:

  • Identity and role context
  • Environment awareness (development, testing, production)
  • Compute selection and switching
  • Data object discovery and reference
  • Action invocation, status, and feedback
  • Error handling and explainability
  • Human agent interaction boundaries

Global Experience Patterns

Establish platform-wide UX patterns applicable across all products and surfaces:

  • Onboarding and first-run experiences
  • Help, guidance, and learning behaviors
  • Permission and access feedback
  • Agent interaction principles (trust, confirmation, explainability)
  • Terminology, naming, and semantic consistency

These patterns serve as foundational contracts, not merely suggestions.

Experience Contracts Across Access Layers

Author and maintain formal experience contracts that define:

  • Parity expectations across UI, API, agent, IDE, and CLI
  • Conditions under which divergence is acceptable
  • Required behaviors for General Availability (GA) readiness
  • Error and feedback semantics

Collaborate with vertical PMs to ratify these contracts and ensure widespread adoption.

Shared UX Platform Roadmap

Own the roadmap for shared UX capabilities delivered by UI Engineering, including:

  • Identity and role resolution services
  • Shared navigation and discovery mechanisms
  • Explainability and cost awareness frameworks
  • Agent action frameworks
  • Onboarding and preference services
  • Experience analytics and instrumentation

This roadmap will be prioritized in alignment with the executive UX strategy and will guide shared UI engineering efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience, with a preference for platforms or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple user surfaces such as UI, API, IDE, CLI, or agents.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong systems thinking capabilities and comfort operating at an abstract level.
  • Experience partnering effectively with design and engineering teams at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise data platforms, developer tools, or large-scale SaaS environments.
  • Exposure to AI or agent-driven user experiences.
  • Background in platform governance or horizontal product ownership.
  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations.

What Success Looks Like

  • Users consistently experience seamless workflows across all access layers.
  • UI Engineering reliably delivers shared UX capabilities as planned.
  • Vertical teams leverage platform patterns instead of duplicating efforts.
  • Redundant work and duplication of experience-related features decrease significantly.
  • New access layers integrate smoothly without requiring the redefinition of core UX concepts.

Application Requirements

To initiate the evaluation process, candidates are required to submit:

  • An updated curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.
  • One or more case studies demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, UX leadership, and tangible, measurable outcomes.
