Security Platforms Engineer

About the Role

Join the Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) Cyber Fusion Engineering team at Thomson Reuters in Bengaluru. This role focuses on supporting and evolving our crucial Cyber Defense Engineering Tools. You will gain hands-on experience with our current security infrastructure and future security services within the technical operations environment, contributing to the development and maintenance of essential security platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and upkeep of security tools and infrastructure, including Confluence, MISP Threat Intelligence Platform, and ServiceNow Security Incident Response.
• Assist in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support our security technologies.
• Collaborate with key Cyber Defense teams such as the Security Operations Center (SOC), Threat Detection, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response to address their feature and support requirements.
• Act as a liaison with other IT disciplines across the organization to develop robust deployment pipelines for AWS infrastructure, ensuring alignment with Enterprise standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in IT or Information Security.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Foundational understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Demonstrated experience in Application/Infrastructure administration within an Enterprise setting.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to accept delegated tasks and manage assigned projects and initiatives to successful completion with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux operating system distributions.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS.
• Knowledge of or experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and/or CI/CD pipeline technologies such as AWS CodeBuild or CodePipeline.
• Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud environment principles.
• Experience or certification in Cyber Security (e.g., Security+).
• Knowledge of or experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) tools.
• Understanding of network transport protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, syslog, DNS, ODBC, SFTP, SSH, PKI).
• Experience working within a large enterprise environment.
