Security Operations Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Security Operations Engineer - Cloud Security for our Cloud Operations & Innovation organization. This role focuses on operating and enhancing cloud security controls, investigating incidents, and advancing automation practices including Infrastructure-as-Code.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and mitigate issues in security controls while surfacing opportunities for network efficiency through automation.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain critical security hardware, operating systems, and software.
• Identify gaps in security policies, recommend solutions, and implement revised standards with partner teams to drive consistency.
• Maintain customer experience standards by analyzing metrics (bugs, data pipelines) and advocating for improvements through appropriate escalation channels.
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting critical security services.
• Analyze compromise attempts with minimal guidance to create exposure-limiting recommendations and response plans alongside partner teams.
• Create detections based on monitoring activities using Indicators of Compromise (IOC) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
• Design, deploy, and operate cloud security controls such as WAF, NSG, Azure Firewall, Defender for Cloud, PIM, Key Vault, and network isolation patterns.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code automation using Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure Policy to enforce baselines at fleet scale.
• Investigate cloud-security incidents, lead postmortems, and convert findings into durable engineering improvements.
