Security Engineer - Automotive Infotainment

Join BMW TechWorks India in Bengaluru/Bangalore as a Security Engineer, contributing to the security of BMW's Linux distribution across multiple layers. You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing security features from the hardware, bootloader, and kernel up to end-user applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain security features across diverse layers of BMW's Linux distribution, encompassing hardware, bootloader, kernel, and end-user applications.
• Conduct thorough reviews of existing security policies, including SELinux, Linux permissions, and systemd configurations.
• Provide crucial support to other teams in the implementation of secure product development practices.
• Contribute to the configuration and source code development of BMW OS security features.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferably with a specialization in security.
• Business-level fluency in English.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in Linux or Android security, including areas like Kernel hardening, Linux permissions, systemd, capabilities, namespaces, and Linux RPC.
• Knowledge of isolation techniques and containerization mechanisms is highly advantageous.
• A deep understanding of fundamental security principles, contemporary techniques, and operating system features such as secure boot, disk encryption, SELinux, integrity protection, and cryptographic protocols.
• Proficiency in modern software development using languages such as C++, Java, or Kotlin. Experience with Python as a versatile tool is also valuable.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, Zuul, Github Actions, or Gitlab CI.
• Understanding of basic threat modeling principles; practical experience is a plus.
