Security Analyst

Role: Tier 2 SOC Analyst

Mission: Support the Division of Information Security through advanced security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex attack patterns across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence to identify emerging threats.
• Perform deep-dive investigations on suspicious activity, validate incidents, determine root causes, and escalate critical issues with detailed context.
• Create comprehensive incident reports, timelines, and post-incident summaries while contributing to remediation strategies.
• Investigate phishing attempts, malware infections, and policy violations; guide users and teams on containment and recovery actions.
• Optimize SOC playbooks, detection rules, alert thresholds, and correlation logic to reduce false positives using real-world investigation data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to tune monitoring tools, integrate new threat intelligence feeds, and conduct proactive threat hunting.
• Serve as a customer-facing SME to demonstrate service capabilities and resolve client issues effectively.
