Security Analyst

Join Uber’s Security Response and Investigations (SRI) team as a Security Analyst on the vSOC (virtual Security Operations Center) team. As a front-line defender, you will triage security alerts globally across cloud, production, and corporate environments, ensuring timely threat detection and mitigation. Your responsibilities include developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance incident response capabilities and coordinating during high-severity incidents. This role requires a weekend shift (Saturdays/Sundays) to support 24/7 security operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Handling incident triage and response for Uber’s global security operations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve incident response frameworks.
• Assisting in crisis management for critical security events.
• Driving automation and threat-hunting initiatives (SOAR/Python).
• Leveraging frameworks like ATT&CK and kill-chain models for threat analysis.

Qualifications:

• Basic: 2+ years of cybersecurity experience, 1+ year in a SOC environment, strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Preferred: Cybersecurity forensic expertise, end-to-end incident leadership, crisis event experience in a global company, and relevant certifications.
