SDE - III (SSP)

InMobi is seeking a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer (SDE III) to lead critical backend components and services. This hands-on role demands strong low-level design, production-grade coding, and end-to-end ownership from architecture to operations and cost optimization. The engineer will build and manage large-scale microservices and data pipelines, influence technical direction, and ensure operational excellence through continuous delivery.

Responsibilities include owning backend services throughout their lifecycle, creating detailed technical designs for data models, APIs, and scalability, and writing high-quality production code. Infrastructure ownership, capacity planning, and cost optimization are key. The role involves building and optimizing systems for high throughput (200K+ QPS) and petabyte-scale data processing, implementing robust monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response. The engineer will also define technical roadmaps, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product and infra teams in an agile environment.

Requirements include 5-8 years of experience in building and operating backend systems, strong Java backend development skills, and expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems. Candidates should have a proven ability to build scalable, high-performance systems, be familiar with cloud-native platforms, RESTful APIs, caching, and messaging systems, and possess strong system design, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Experience in large-scale product environments is essential, with AdTech domain experience being a significant advantage.

Preferred qualifications include experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their cost management, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, streaming platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, Flink), SRE principles, performance optimization, and a track record of driving cross-service technical initiatives. Open-source contributions or technical writing are also a plus.
