Role Overview

SDE 2 – Backend Engineer (Node.js)

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling backend systems. Key responsibilities include building reliable APIs, working with databases and distributed systems, and owning features from development to production in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend components.
• Optimize database schemas, queries, and data models (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
• Take end-to-end ownership of backend features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Debug production issues to improve system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.

What You'll Need (Ideal Candidate)

• Experience: 2–4 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Tech Stack: Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• APIs & Databases: Experience building RESTful APIs; knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Bonus Criteria

• Prior experience in payments or fintech products is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
