Software Development Engineer I (SDE I) - Kolkata

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code adhering to best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, and design.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Work with various systems including APIs, databases, and backend/frontend architectures.
  • Optimize application performance and reliability.
  • Follow established software development best practices and coding standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management concepts.
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or project experience in software development.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or modern web frameworks.
  • Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with REST APIs or microservices architecture is a plus.
