About the Role: Scrum Master (Level 1)

As a certified Scrum Master, you will be instrumental in guiding and facilitating a Scrum team towards achieving sprint goals and deliverables. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the effective implementation and adherence to Scrum principles, acting as a shield for the development team, fostering self-management, promoting cross-team collaboration, and maintaining focus on project tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for meeting Sprint objectives and commitments alongside the scrum team.
  • Own and actively resolve team impediments.
  • Support the Product Owner in adopting the Scrum process, ensuring their availability and engagement.
  • Assist the Product Owner in maintaining the Product Backlog, defining User Stories, and establishing Acceptance Criteria.
  • Facilitate estimation, backlog refinement, and all planning ceremonies.
  • Ensure adherence to Definition of Ready (DOR), Definition of Done (DOD), and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Manage MoSCoW adherence for the Sprint Backlog at the sprint level.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of Agile processes.
  • Protect the team from external interference.
  • Facilitate technical assistance and promote clear communication within the team.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrum meetings across teams and highlight impediments.
  • Provide feedback on team member performance to the Agile Line Manager and Agile Program Leader.
  • Facilitate all Scrum Ceremonies (Planning, Daily Standup, Grooming, Demo, Retrospective) and ensure proper adoption.
  • Ensure the updating of all Scrum artifacts and the ALM tool (client or Wipro) on a daily basis.
  • Update key Scrum metrics into Wipro's internal tool sprint-by-sprint and analyze these metrics for corrective actions.
  • Develop competency improvement and cross-skilling plans for the team, aiming for at least 50% multiskilling and reviewing monthly for score improvement.
  • Help the team achieve stable velocity within 6-8 sprints (allowing for 10% variation).
  • Train the team on the proper adoption of Agile processes (Scrum / XP / Kanban).
  • Assist in the adoption of engineering practices such as ATDD, TDD, CI, CD, and Refactoring.
  • Record and own retrospective actions.
  • Participate in community of practice initiatives.
  • Provide inputs to the Line Manager for internal quality forums (QIC / APR / QBR / MBR etc.).
