Job Title: Sales Engineer
Location: Pune, India (with focus on Aurangabad / Marathwada market)
AARA Energy Innovations Pvt Ltd is seeking a driven Sales Engineer to expand our presence in the industrial and commercial solar energy sector, particularly focusing on the Aurangabad / Marathwada region. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and supporting market development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Sales and Lead Generation: Identify and generate leads for industrial & commercial rooftop solar, ground-mounted/captive solar projects, and Open Access solar opportunities. Conduct field visits, cold calls, and meetings with industrial units, factories, warehouses, MSMEs, landowners, developers, and consultants. Build strong relationships with local influencers such as consultants, electrical contractors, brokers, and industry associations.
- Client Interaction and Opportunity Management: Understand client requirements (load profile, space, CAPEX/OPEX preferences). Present company capabilities, EPC experience, and value proposition. Coordinate with design, engineering, and estimation teams for technical inputs. Support the preparation of techno-commercial proposals and RFQ responses. Assist in negotiations and deal closure under senior leadership guidance.
- Market Development and Expansion Support: Establish company presence in the Aurangabad / Marathwada market. Track local competitors, pricing trends, and policy developments. Support expansion initiatives in Gujarat and Open Access projects through lead sourcing or coordination. Participate in exhibitions, plant visits, seminars, and networking events.
- Coordination and Reporting: Coordinate with internal teams for site surveys, feasibility assessments, and proposal timelines. Maintain CRM/lead trackers, sales pipeline, and follow-up schedules. Submit weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates.
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Diploma in Engineering (Renewable Energy, Electrical, Mechanical) or Commerce.
- 2-3 years of field sales experience in Solar EPC/Renewable Energy (preferred), or Electrical, power, infrastructure, or industrial project sales.
- Prior experience in the Aurangabad / Marathwada region is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in Marathi is mandatory; Hindi and English are preferred.
Required Skills:
- Proven field sales and B2B business development experience.
- Understanding of solar EPC business models (CAPEX/RESCO/Open Access exposure).
- Ability to translate technical concepts into simple commercial terms.
- Strong proposal follow-up and closure support skills.
- Excellent local networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-driven, disciplined, and target-oriented with comfort for extensive field travel.
- Professional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic CRM usage.
- Effective email communication and reporting.
- Basic understanding of solar plant components and terminology.
