Full Job Description
EY is seeking a Senior Risk Data Engineer with strong PL/SQL expertise to join our Technology team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. This is a senior, hands-on delivery role focused on building innovative digital solutions for the next generation of Financial and Non-Financial services globally. You will work with cutting-edge cloud and big data technologies, focusing on data engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and production support.
We are looking for candidates with 3-6 years of relevant experience, a strong technical foundation, and a passion for learning. Your interest in Financial Crime, Financial Risk, and Compliance technology transformation, along with your ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, will be key to your success. You will contribute to building exceptional experiences for our clients and a better working world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ingest and provision raw datasets, enriched tables, and curated data assets for various use cases.
- Drive improvements in data ingestion reliability and frequency, increasing real-time data coverage.
- Support and enhance data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines.
- Design and implement data pipelines to collect data from disparate enterprise and external sources, delivering it to our data platform.
- Develop Extract Transform Load (ETL) workflows, utilizing advanced data manipulation tools and programmatic methods to ensure data availability and correct formatting throughout data flows.
- Identify and onboard new data sources, using existing schemas and conducting exploratory data analysis to provide solutions.
- Evaluate modern data engineering technologies, frameworks, and tools to foster innovation and enhance data processing capabilities.
Core/Must-Have Skills:
- 3-8 years of expertise in designing and implementing data warehouses and data lakes using the Oracle Tech Stack (DB: PL/SQL).
- At least 4+ years of experience in Database Design and Dimensional modeling using Oracle PL/SQL.
- Proficiency in advanced PL/SQL concepts such as Materialized Views, Global Temporary Tables, Partitions, and PL/SQL Packages.
- Experience in SQL tuning, PL/SQL solution tuning, and physical database optimization.
- Proven ability to write and tune SQL scripts, including tables, views, indexes, and complex PL/SQL objects (procedures, functions, triggers, packages) in Oracle Database 11g or higher.
- Experience in developing ETL processes, including ETL control tables, error logging, auditing, and data quality checks, with a focus on reusability and parameterization.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Neo4j).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues in data pipelines and systems.
- Solid understanding of ETL methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with OLAP, OLTP databases, and data structuring/modeling.
Good to Have Skills:
- Experience in Financial Crime, Financial Risk, and Compliance technology transformation domains.
- Cloud technology stack certifications.
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines on AWS Glue or Oracle Cloud.
- Experience in designing and developing systems for Azure/AWS Lakehouse maintenance, ETL processes, Business Intelligence, and data ingestion pipelines for AI/ML use cases.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI/Tableau and SSRS.
