Research Scientist

At Meta, we develop cutting-edge technologies that help people connect and build immersive experiences. As a Research Scientist in Wearables AI, you will drive innovation in device-driven AI assistants for our wearable product line. This role focuses on developing state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs), advanced speech technologies, and personalized voice interfaces.

Your responsibilities include designing rigorous experiments, building scalable AI systems, leveraging massive datasets to advance foundational model research, and creating the methods and tools necessary to push forward the industry's state of the art in LLMs. You will directly contribute to experimental details, develop reusable code, run comprehensive evaluations, and organize impactful results.

Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree (completed prior to joining) or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering, plus a current PhD or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency with ML libraries like PyTorch and scripting languages such as Python is essential. Preferred qualifications involve expertise in automatic speech recognition, synthesis, LLMs, a strong publication record at top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR), cross-functional collaboration skills, the ability to transition research into production, and 2+ years of relevant R&D experience.
