Research Engineer

ixigo is seeking a skilled Research Engineer specializing in Applied AI/ML to join our innovative team in Gurugram, Haryana. In this role, you will drive research and development initiatives, focusing on rapid architecture, design, and prototyping of cutting-edge solutions for online travel consumers. Your primary goal will be to ensure the continuous launch of innovative products by a dedicated team of research technologists and developers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and drive technological innovation.
• Design, develop, and deploy prototypes of AI/ML solutions.
• Oversee the evolution of prototypes into production-ready products.
• Collaborate with a team of highly qualified researchers and developers.
• Ensure the timely launch of innovative products for online travel consumers.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• A deep understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised), including predictive and statistical modeling, applied programming, data management, transformation, and visualization.
• Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Conversational AI algorithms, with practical experience in related areas.
• Strong knowledge of data mining and ML in NLP, with the ability to translate findings into robust, production-quality code.
• Sound understanding of model selection approaches and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and clearly articulate key insights.
• Creativity in handling both large and small datasets.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex results clearly.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming techniques.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Solid grasp of Algorithms and Data Structures.
• Proven development experience in Python.
• Demonstrated experience in API design and software architecture.
• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, or 2+ years for PhD candidates, preferably from cutting-edge organizations or startups.
• Comfort with software development using Python (Django) and strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning libraries.

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of Apache Spark.
• Good understanding of deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• A PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with advanced AI research techniques and state-of-the-art methodologies.
• Experience with e-business/e-commerce applications and business environments is a plus.
