About the Job:
Turing, a leading AI research accelerator and enterprise AI partner based in San Francisco, California, is seeking a Software Engineering evaluator. This role involves creating advanced datasets for training and benchmarking large language models, in close collaboration with researchers.
Project Overview:
Your responsibilities will include curating code examples, providing precise solutions, and making corrections in Python, JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, Rust, and Go. You will also evaluate and refine AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, and work with cross-functional teams to improve enterprise-level AI-driven coding solutions.
A Typical Day Involves:
- Contributing to AI model training by curating code, building solutions, and correcting code across various languages (Python, JavaScript, C/C++, Java, Rust, Go).
- Evaluating and refining AI-generated code for optimal efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborating with teams to enhance AI-driven coding solutions against industry performance benchmarks.
- Developing agents to verify code quality and identify error patterns.
- Hypothesizing and evaluating model capabilities across different stages of the software engineering lifecycle, including prototyping, architecture and API design, production implementation, launch, experiments, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Designing automated verification mechanisms for software engineering tasks.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in building full-stack applications and deploying scalable, production-grade software using modern technologies.
- A strong understanding of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality assessment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for detailed and structured evaluation rationales.
Engagement Details:
- Commitment: Flexible, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. Partial overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST) is required.
- Type: Contractor position (without medical benefits or paid leave).
- Duration: Initial 1-month engagement, commencing next week, with potential for extension based on performance and mutual fit.
- Location: Candidates must be based in the US, Canada, or Western European countries (e.g., UK, Netherlands, Italy, Germany).
