Full Job Description
Turing is seeking a Remote Senior Software Engineer – Java to contribute to groundbreaking projects in LLM (Large Language Model) evaluation and training. This role focuses on developing verifiable software engineering (SWE) tasks using public GitHub repositories, expanding dataset coverage across programming languages and difficulty levels. The successful candidate will engage in hands-on software engineering tasks, including:
- Analyzing and triaging GitHub issues in trending open-source libraries
- Setting up and configuring code repositories, including Dockerization and environment setup
- Evaluating unit test coverage and code quality
- Modifying and running codebases locally to assess LLM performance in bug-fixing scenarios
- Collaborating with researchers to identify and design challenging repositories and issues for LLM evaluation
- Potential leadership opportunities to mentor junior engineers
This is a contract role with a fully remote work environment. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in software engineering, proficiency in Java, and strong skills in Git, Docker, and software pipelines.
