Remote Rust Engineer
Full Job Description
Turing is seeking experienced Rust developers to collaborate with a premier AI research lab. The goal is to enhance the safety and reliability of coding workflows through cutting-edge Rust development. You will actively contribute to real-world Rust codebases, implementing new features, resolving complex ownership and concurrency issues, and developing robust test suites to ensure memory safety and correctness. This is a fully remote, highly flexible opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere on your own schedule. This role offers a unique chance to apply your Rust expertise to frontier AI research, influencing the way AI learns to generate and reason about systems-level code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and refine features within production-grade Rust codebases.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve challenges related to ownership, borrowing, and concurrency.
- Design and implement comprehensive tests, including unit, integration, and property-based tests, to uphold safety standards.
- Contribute to the improvement of development environments, dependencies, and overall performance.
- Document architectural decisions and clearly articulate trade-offs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional Rust experience, with over 3 years of total industry experience.
- A strong understanding of Rust's ownership, lifetimes, async/multithreading, and memory safety concepts.
- Proficiency in Rust testing frameworks, profiling, and debugging techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to refactor and enhance large Rust codebases.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and clear, effective English communication skills.
Why Join Us:
- Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere, on your preferred schedule.
- Career Advancement: Develop deep expertise in Rust at the intersection of systems programming and artificial intelligence.
- High-Impact Projects: Play a key role in shaping how advanced AI models learn to handle safe, concurrent Rust code.
