Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize robust COBOL applications for both Mainframe and Linux platforms.
• Manage end-to-end payment lifecycles, specifically focusing on SEPA (Credit Transfer, Direct Debits, Instant Payments, Target2) and SWIFT/Cross-border payment protocols.
• Drive the MT-MX migration strategy, leveraging industry standards such as ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
• Lead code reviews, perform deep-dive troubleshooting, and execute comprehensive test plans (Unit, System, and Regression).
• Operate within a global, distributed Agile team using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Utilize DevOps practices and version control tools, including GIT and IBM Synergy, to ensure continuous integration and high-quality software delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of professional experience in COBOL development.
• Advanced knowledge of payment industry regulations, message standards, and clearing systems.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, geographically distributed team environment.
