Open-source and evolving toward open governance via GitHub (https://github.com/Qiskit), Qiskit is now built with Rust to ensure performance leadership.

Our Vision

We aim for Qiskit to become the 'gcc' and 'libc' of quantum computing: an open, highly performant, platform-neutral compiler and standard library. We are seeking candidates who will grow into integral contributors and technology leaders within this flagship IBM Quantum team.

Your Responsibilities

• Make significant code contributions to the Qiskit SDK (http://github.com/Qiskit/qiskit) while maintaining its integrity.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment, applying strong software design and engineering skills alongside quantum compiler and information expertise.
• Mentor junior team members and rapidly acquire new skills on the job.
• Stay ahead of state-of-the-art research in quantum compilers and integration into Qiskit.

Ideal candidates possess experience with large open-source projects, adhere to community best practices for GitHub mechanics and code reviews, and thrive in a globally distributed team environment.
