The Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) group within the Institutional Equity Division (IED) designs rules-based investment strategies to provide clients with diverse exposures. We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with at least 5 years of experience to join the QIS Strats team in Mumbai. As an integral part of the Global QIS data platform team, you will work on innovative projects, leveraging data to drive insights and solutions. Your responsibilities will include creating and enhancing dashboards for data and index telemetry, providing insights for Sales, Trading, and Management, and collaborating with various internal and external data providers to acquire and analyze datasets. You will develop expertise on datasets, implement intelligent quality checks, and be responsible for data quality maintenance and governance, as well as index publication. Partnering with Technology data platform teams, you will drive scalable and reliable solutions. You will collaborate with Structuring, QIS Strats, and Technology teams to build Python toolkits and custom data adaptors for the research platform, and actively participate in automating and streamlining data workflows. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in data science or a related field, a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related fields, and proficiency in Python, Pandas, and Numpy. Strong knowledge of SQL and general development principles like unit testing is essential. A strong interest and demonstrated experience in data science and quantitative domains, along with comfort in UNIX/Linux environments, are required. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial. A driven and collaborative mindset is needed to thrive in an intense, team-oriented environment. Experience with visualization and dashboards is beneficial.
