QA Engineer

About the Role

Clearwater is seeking a motivated Automation Engineer (SDET) with a solid background in manual testing and a growing expertise in test automation. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, automation, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance testing efficiency and product reliability. This role is based in Pune, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing, including sanity, regression, and acceptance testing.
• Analyze requirements and design comprehensive test cases and scenarios.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts.
• Execute tests and meticulously report defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and QA teams within an Agile framework.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to boost automation productivity.
• Actively participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to ongoing quality improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Testing & QA

• 1-4 years of experience in Software Testing.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Hands-on experience with Sanity Testing, Regression Testing, and Acceptance Testing.

Agile & Tools

• Good knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA, TestLink, or Zephyr.

Automation & AI Tools

• Demonstrated experience or strong exposure to test automation.
• Hands-on or working knowledge of AI-powered coding and testing tools, such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor.

Programming & Scripting

• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language: Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Ability to write reusable, maintainable, and well-structured automation code.

Cloud Awareness

• Basic working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Awareness of cloud-based environments and deployment processes.

Good to Have

• Experience with automation frameworks like Playwright (preferred), Selenium, Cypress, or PyTest.
• API testing experience.
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
• Exposure to containerized or cloud test execution environments.
